Where is this? We have a bear problem in Ontario. Where I use to live in the Great White North, a lady was bbq'n outside and talking on her phone. She went inside and then came back out. Well a bear and her cub decided that the bbq was there's tonight and help themselves to dinner.
They come that close. When hungry as a bear they can be quite dangerous too.
Even though there cute and fuzzy in pictures.

Anchorage, Alaska.

You know me and bears. I cannot get enough of them. Even when they're showing their choppers!

Scurry over to The Local. We're talking about border fences! w00t!

Thought you would love it. It's in the uh-oh thread.

FR posted a link to a hair raising article about an Arizona law maker, too.

Ran into one here,

when doing a little unaccompanied full moon night hike on the "Knob".

To unexpectedly meet one in the wild, alone at night, will give you goose bumps, and the O'shitski's

That looks beautiful. It really does.

I think I should love nothing more than a moon night hike and a meeting with a bear.

I really should be afraid of these creatures, shouldn't I?

Roan Mountain NC.

You should have a healthy respect for their potencial to harm. Black Bears are generally not man killers like their cousins, but they will attack, and kill.

A child was killed, and her mother badly mauled at a picnic area aound Clingman's Dome last summer.

Good lordy. I forget these beasts on are on the loose in our State.

I (think) I have a healthy respect for bears. I do prefer the brown variety, though. Bigger and toothier.

Great...now I'm making up words like George W.
