She Lives!!!
My POS, State issued laptop died on my first day in Sweden. My laptop means more to me than mere words can express. It's not about internet access, blogging or forum trolling either. It is the freedom my dear, sweet, dead laptop provides me. She may be old, but she is wireless. Oh the places we could go together.......
Upon my return to the US and work, I had whined and begged for a loner. Fortunately, there was one to spare so I was not completely cut off from the rest of the world. But...I had no administrative rights to the bugger, so there was no Google Chat, I was not wireless and my documents were *poof* gone. Wwwwaaaaaahhhhh.......
Shawn, our trusty ISD bloke, just gave me the best present a girl could receive. My old laptop has been rebuilt. Now...I had been using a much newer, fancier model...but it wasn't mine. I liked my old POS and I am thrilled to have her back.
I'm almost feeling whole again.

Isn't it funny how a little thing made of plastic and metal can have so much of it's own personality?
Yes it is. And I am relieved to read that someone understands that. I think the IS guy thought I was nuts for being so happy to have my old girl back again.
