Hot!

Summertime in the Carolinas. There is nothing like it anywhere.

At the time of this post, the heat index is already 99 degrees. It is expected to reach 103 degrees per the weather gurus at WRAL. Ugh ugh ugh. Fortunately for us, the humidity is relatively low today; a mere 56%.

I really do not care for summer time, especially in Raleigh. It's stifling hot, everyone is cranky and I cannot garden past 09:00 in the morning (a bit of a challenge for those of us who like to sleep in on the weekends) because of the oppressive heat.

Shortly, I have to leave the office to run some errands. I am not looking forward to dragging myself across the blistering hot parking lot (covered in black-top), sitting in a steaming car and searing my paws on the steering wheel. I have given up on all things vanity oriented as there is absolutely no point in trying to wear the war paint (eyeliner), it will slide off your face the moment you open the front door. My tresses have been pulled back off of my face in an attempt to remain cool. I am so grateful that I chopped off my locks earlier this year. I could not imagine having to endure another summer with long hair.

I keep telling myself that September is coming 'round the corner. It cannot get here fast enough. The heat needs to go. Now.
