Group Think

Today's topic for debate...

Is group think such a bad thing? I don't mean the kind where lemmings go running over a cliff or every drinks the Guyana Punch. I mean the type where folks exhibit an esprit de corps.

I must admit that I do not think group think is necessarily bad. There is something about a general consensus of smart individuals that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I'm only a fraction of a hippie. I do bathe, I don't like The Dead and I would never give my offspring a name like, "Moonbeam."

Group think is fine, as long as think is the operative word. Sometimes people just don't like something because it sucks, someone else because they are a jackass, etc. It's amazing how the purveyors of suck and the jackasses start to whine about "group think" and call those that won't leap on the bandwagon sheep.
