Hoot Hoot

This afternoon, Dock tells me a funny story about growing up in Yarmouth, Maine. As the link will tell you, Yarmouth is a relatively snooty town on the coast of Maine.

Yarmouth High School has a hockey team. I cannot tell you if they are/were good or if they sucked. What I can tell you is that when an opponent would score, the YHS fans would start chanting, "That's all right! That's ok! You will work for us one day!"

Aaaaah....I love the sounds of New England elitism.

My high school's hockey team was somewhat more subtle. They had their own chant; sort of a "pep talk" chant. I don't remember all of it, but it started: "Rat shit, bat shit, smelly old twat (pronounced 'twot'), sixty-nine douche bags tied in a knot."
It seemed to be a real team-spirit pick-me-up.

Scott, I used to have that George Carlin album ("Class Clown"), and I don't remember "Seven Words" containing this bit. But he could have done another version and used it, I suppose. I thought it was unique...But then again, perhaps a gang of high school jocks coming up with something so - umm - clever(?) could be stretching it.
