So, that's how you treat your friends?
*snarls
I want to say this...airlines need to rethink the name, "buddy pass." You know...the discounted tickets employees get to give to family and friends. They may be cheap, but they are no gift.
For example...I tried flying on a buddy pass the other day. One must fly standby and there is no guarantee that you will get anywhere. I, trying to make it to Maine, was stranded in Atlanta. Dock, who is trying to get home from Maine, cannot. The end result is our having to buy real tickets to get to and fro. So...we spend the (nominal) cabbage on the buddy pass and end up paying premium to fly back and forth.
I have always said it is the thought that counts. But if you think highly enough of your friends to cause them undue anxiety, angst and stress...you may want to reconsider how much you value their friendship.
I shall no longer take advantage of the "buddy" system. It's either full freight for me or I'm driving. And if Dock ever thinks he can play airline roulette, he has another thing coming, as well.
I need no more melt downs in the middle of Atlanta's airport to prove that the system is flawed and not for me.

The next person who tells me I cannot take my precious Saab and drive in style is the next victim of my high-heeled, lead foot being lodged firmly up their ass.
/me groans
And I thought the bus was the lowest form of public transport.
