Lazy Weekend
Well...it's about 12:15 on Sunday afternoon. I'm looking around the house and thinking that I have been anything but productive this weekend. The laundry is piled higher than my height, there is mail everywhere and I really need to dust. All of this...while lacking any motivation what so ever.
Yesterday...after covering the "greys" with a lovely red (and blonde streaks), Dock and I ventured back out to Elod's European Bistro for lunch. My fourth time there (in two weeks) and the food is still amazing. The owner taught me some Hungarian....thank you and hello...at my request and giggled as I massacred the language. I think I'm becoming unusually fixated on the Corsican tuna. I wonder if there is a 12-step for that.?. Next time...I think I'm going full steam ahead for the goulash and cucumber salad, though.
The rain came during lunch and the rest of the afternoon was a total wash. I spent the rest of the day on the phone, giggling like a nitwit...but I suppose everyone deserves a day of idle, slight hedonism and shameless self-indulgence.
Which brings me to Sunday. Mounds of laundry are requiring my immediate attention, my summer bulbs need to be planted (but I'm fearing the ground my be too soggy for my work gloves) and I'm going to try to bake a flammenkueche for dinner. No pressure there.
It's nice and nippy in Raleigh this morning. I'm wrapped up in a blanket, in my fleecy-sheep jammies with a cup of coffee and a pack of smokes. I wish I could stay like this all day. (*Kang sighs) Although...snuggled up in bed would probably be better. Mmmmmmm.....
I keep thinking that I need to write something about Leaky-Bush or the illegal immigration issue. I have not slammed anyone in quite some time and I am overdue on mounting my soapbox and ranting. Maybe, once I return from mush-brain-land, I will write something remotely coherent and intelligent, as I am sure I’m boring the hell out of my readers at this point.
Until then…I wish everyone a glorious, lazy Sunday. May you all be clad in fleece jammies and be feeling as warm and fuzzy as I am at this point in time.
Oh...and a small shout-out to Littlefair, the boys and James and the Giant Peach.
